Free software as a matter of study - Past, present and future

Free software has become a matter of study by the academia over the past 15 years. In this talk I want to give a short review of the most important studies that have been conducted on free software, including the most important outcomes, results and some miscelanea as well. Finally, I will try to propose several topics and areas that have been neglected by the research community and that could be worth looking at.

Sobre o Palestrante: Gregorio Robles is Associate Professor at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, Spain. His research work is centered in the study of libre software development from an engineering point of view and especially with regard to quantitative and empirical issues. He has developed or collaborated in the design of programmes to automate the analysis of libre software and the tools used to produce them, such as CVSAnalY.
